I had the pleasure of doing more family mini sessions on Thanksgiving weekend. With the help of one of these families I decided on the Father Pandosy Mission in Kelowna as the backdrop. I’m so glad I did. When you look at these photos you may not be able to see too many that have Father Pandosy’s little log homes and barns as usual. The best backdrop lied in some of hidden spots around the mission. Here are the first two lovely and happy families that I had so much fun photographing.
My favourite image from this family’s session is this one. Although I got some fun action shots as you will see and some great posed images this one stops me in my tracks. Mom is just gorgeous. The best part is, it isn’t posed. It was one of those in-between moments while trying to get baby to look my way. Isn’t Mom gorgeous? I recently saw a quote by the fabulous Sue Bryce regarding moms getting in front of the camera. She said, “Your children think you’re beautiful.” That quote describes this moment perfectly.
The rain let up minutes before this family’s session. Just check out that crazy grey sky! And the best part about toddlers is that they don’t care! They have fun no matter how wet and slippery the grass is. The whole family got in on the fun, love the playfulness.
By the time I started the second session of the evening the golden trees were magical.
The dynamic between these sisters is just awesome. It is such a sweet big & little sister dynamic. Loved this candid moment they created all on their own. Just being themselves.
After these two sessions I had a permanent grin! These two families made me quick on my feet and it was lots of fun.
Part two of my Thanksgiving sessions coming up…
